This tuition scholarship is given in memory of Leroy S. Applefeld, a very sensitive, creative man who loved both performing and fine arts. He collected paintings, bronzes, sculpture, and coins. One of his main interests was making jewelry, which he gave generously to his family and friends. His daughter continues the tradition as an art teacher and multimedia artist. It is very meaningful to Leroy's widow and family that this scholarship, in his name, makes it possible for young artists to continue their studies.
